PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Police say one person has been wounded by gunfire that erupted during a fight at a suburban Rochester nightclub hosting a memorial party for a man who was slain last year.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says police responded around 12:30 a.m. Monday to reports of a disturbance at Taylor's Nightclub in the town of Pittsford.

Deputies say a fight started inside the club and moved outside, where one person was grazed in the head by a bullet. That person was taken to a Rochester hospital for treatment and is expected to recover.

Police say there was an event at the club held in honor of someone killed at the Radisson hotel in downtown Rochester in 2016. Last week, a 23-year-old man pleaded guilty to manslaughter for causing the death of 19-year-old Brandon Spears in the hotel last June.
