$1 million in state funding is headed to the Griffiss Business and Technology Park in Rome.

The funding announced by Senator Joseph Griffo and Assemblyman Anthony Brindisi will help strengthen research, economic and defense assets at Griffiss.

The Griffiss Local Development Corporation will get $500,000 and the Central New York Defense Alliance will receive $50,000

The remaining $450,000 will go to Oneida County to further improve Griffiss International Airport.

Brindisi said, “The work performed by federal employees at the Griffiss Business and Technology Park has never been more important.  This funding helps ensure that the workforce at the Air Force Research Lab, DFAS, EADS, and the UAS Project test site can continue projects that strengthen our nation’s security.  It also will enhance Griffiss International Airport and the infrastructure of the Griffiss Business and Technology Park, so it can continue attracting tenants and strengthening our regional economy.”
