RICHMOND, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say 11 people had minor injuries when a commuter bus was hit by a car and smashed in the side of home in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Richmond police say the bus was trying to get out of the way of the stolen car as it fled from police Friday evening.

Police say the bus instead clipped the car and ran into the house where a mother was inside with her 3-month-old baby and 5-year-old daughter.

Police Lt. Andre Hill says the mother and children along with eight people from the bus were taken to the hospital. All had only minor injuries.

A passenger from the stolen car was arrested, but the driver fled on foot and had not yet been caught.
