ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York state troopers are getting 15 new canine teams.

The troopers and their dogs are graduating from the Canine Handler Basic School at the state police academy in Albany on Friday.

The training program includes training in obedience and agility as well as narcotics or explosives detection.

Handlers who graduate from the school get to go on patrol with their dogs.

Seven of the 15 teams will be assigned to New York City.
