Oneida County District Attorney Scott McNamara is announcing 16 arrests made as part of Operation Tax Burden.
The arrests stem from an investigation into crimes against revenue, including welfare and unemployment fraud.

The 16 people arrested are accused of allegedly obtaining public assistance such as food stamps, child care and Medicaid.

The charges filed include grand larceny, unlawfully obtaining public assistance and offering a false instrument for filing.

In addition to the 16 arrests, others are being investigated as part of the ongoing operation.
