Utica, NY (WIBX) – A Utica man has been arrested for allegedly selling his girlfriend’s car to a scrap yard–without her knowledge or consent. Utica Police say that 42 year old Kurt Brinkerhoff was given permission to use the car during the morning hours, but when he failed to return, some 13 hours later–Brinkerhoff’s girlfriend called police to report the vehicle was stolen.

Police say their investigation revealed that Brinkerhoff brought the car to a local scrap yard, where the vehicle was sold.  Brinkerhoff is also accused of removing the car’s battery and selling that too. He was charged with Grand Larceny, a felony and Unauthorized  Use of a Motor Vehicle.
