LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (AP) — Two friends have admitted to helping a man convicted in the death of an 8-year-old girl evade police following a fatal 2016 boat crash on Lake George.

Twenty-nine-year-old Matthew Marry and 28-year-old Kristine Tiger pleaded guilty Thursday to misdemeanor charges of hindering prosecution. They will be sentenced on Jan. 18 to 45-day sentences in jail, followed by three years of probation.

In May, Alexander West was convicted of second-degree manslaughter in the death of Charlotte McCue of Carlsbad, Calif. The girl died after West crashed his boat into the boat carrying Charlotte and her family on Lake George.

Prosecutors say West, Marry and Tiger all left the scene without reporting the incident, and were later arrested.

The couple's lawyer declined to comment on the plea.
