ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Two towering spruce trees are heading to the state Capitol to light up the holidays.

A 45-foot-tall Colorado blue spruce being donated by Mike Bowman of Claverack is scheduled to be cut down and transported to Albany on Monday. It will light up the Empire State Plaza through New Years.

On Tuesday, a 30-foot-tall blue spruce donated by the Bober family of Albany will be trucked to East Capitol Park in Albany.

The lights will be turned on at a celebration on Sunday, Dec. 4. The festivities will include ice skating in the Empire State Plaza rink, horse and carriage rides, music and fireworks.
