2 Central New York Women Accused of Removing Items From a Grave
Two Central New York women are accused of removing items from a grave. Police charged Heather Schaap of Clinton and Jackie Williams of Deansboro after they allegedly removed property without permission from a cemetery stone located in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
In a press release from the Kirkland Police Department it's alleged that for the past nine months both of the woman have stolen trinkets and memorial items from the stone of a deceased person.
The alleged theft was reported after the family put out trail cameras and found the women taking items and removing flowers without permission from the family.
Schaap was charged with petit larceny and 2nd degree cemetery desecration, both misdemeanors.
Williams was charged with 2nd degree cemetery desecration
Both Schaap and Williams were issued tickets returnable to the Town of Kirkland Court later this month.
