COEYMANS, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say two people are missing after a small, flat-bottomed boat capsized on an upstate New York lake and they didn't resurface.

Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple says the search for the two adults in Lawson Lake began sometime before 8 p.m. Thursday and has transitioned into a recovery.

He says the lake is murky and has only about two or three feet of visibility.

Authorities didn't immediately identify the missing pair. It's unclear what caused the boat to capsize.

The lake located 10 miles southwest of the city of Albany is in a 420-acre county park on the border of the towns of New Scotland and Coeymans (KWEE'-mihnz).
