BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Two drivers have pleaded guilty for having a drag race down a western New York street that ended with a fatal crash.

Authorities say the two were speeding in the town of Colden on an April afternoon when one of the cars crashed into the back of a pickup truck that was turning into a driveway.

A passenger in the car driven by 20-year-old Kody Schroeder of Holland was killed and another passenger was seriously hurt.

Schroeder pleaded guilty Friday to manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter and vehicular assault.

The other driver, 18-year-old Mercedes Castillo of Holland, pleaded guilty to criminally negligent homicide and assault.

Schroeder faces up to 15 years in prison and Castillo up to four years when they are sentenced in December.
