2 Young Girls Treated For Minor Burns Following Boat Fire

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (AP) — Officials say two young girls have been treated for minor burns after a fire destroyed a boat on an upstate New York lake.

The Ontario County Sheriff's Office says the blaze broke out on Canandaigua Lake around 2 p.m. Tuesday. Crews say the boat was fully involved with fire and destroyed in the blaze.

Authorities say the boat's 27-year-old owner and his three young children jumped from the boat and swam to shore. Police say some neighbors dove into the water to help the man bring his children to safety.

Deputies say all of the children were wearing life jackets. Officials say a 10-year-old girl and 4-year-old girl were taken to a hospital for minor burns to their feet and legs.
