NEWBURGH, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say they've charged 20 people with being part of a gang that ran a drug ring blamed for recent violence in a Hudson Valley city.

The Times Herald-Record of Middletown reports (http://bit.ly/2rzIc0w ) that federal prosecutors say 18 of the 20 suspects were arrested Wednesday in the city of Newburgh on charges that include racketeering conspiracy, drug trafficking, assault and attempted murder. Officials say two suspects remain at large.

Authorities say the gang sold heroin, crack cocaine and marijuana in the city's south side neighborhoods. Officials say members of the gang attacked rival gang members and others.

Officials say the gang's activities started in 2014 and continued until Wednesday's bust.
