ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Jury selection is underway for the second of three men charged in the shooting outside a Rochester community center that killed three people and wounded four others last year.

Twenty-one-year-old Jalen Everett was charged with murder and assault after the mass shooting outside the Boys and Girls Club in August 2015. Jury selection began Monday in a Rochester court.

Earlier this year 21-year-old Johnny Blackshell Jr. was convicted of three counts of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

A third defendant, 18-year-old Michael Mathis, will be tried separately.

Prosecutors say the men were in a vehicle when they opened fire on a crowd that had gathered outside the club after a basketball game. Three young men ages 17, 19 and 25 were killed and four others suffered gunshot wounds.
