Autumn is a beautiful time of year, and there's no better way to celebrate the fall season than heading out on an apple picking adventure. There are several orchards in Central New York, and a handful of them offer lots more than just apples.

 

Critz Farms (Cazenovia, NY)

Scenic Madison County is home to this one of a kind orchard. Critz Farms features all different types of apples: Cortland, Empire, Macoun, Macintosh, Gala, and Honey Crisp varieties.

Wratten's Apple Orchard (Leonardsville, NY)

Pick Cortlands and Northern Spies to your heart's content at this countryside orchard just south of Bridgewater. They also have honey from the comb, a quaint gift shop, and an 1893 cider making demonstration too.

Abbot Farms (Baldwinsville, New York)

This out of the way orchard offers more than 20 different apple varieties. From Cortlands to Zestars, and everything in between: Paulareds, Crispens, and Gingergolds are just a handful of the U-Pick offerings at Abbot Farms.  Abbot's also has more than just apples though.
