ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say three people had to escape a blaze by jumping out of second-story windows of their Rochester home that's located across the street from a fire station.

Fire officials say the blaze broke out around 2:45 a.m. Monday at a home on Barton Street on the city's southwest side.

Crews working out of the station across the street got there quickly but say three people had already jumped from the burning structure. All three were injured and are being treated at a hospital. None of the injuries are considered life-threatening.

Neighbors say the injured include two University of Rochester students and a friend who was visiting.

Fire officials say they're investigating the cause of the fire.
