TUPPER LAKE, N.Y. (AP) — Three former employees of a facility for the disabled in northern New York have been convicted of assaulting a resident in 2014.

The Adirondack Daily Enterprise reports (http://bit.ly/28OXMw7 ) a Franklin County jury on Wednesday found Franklin Mussen, Jerry Bush and Todd LaValley guilty of charges that included felony counts of assault and endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.

The three men were among five employees of the Sunmount Developmental Center in Tupper Lake indicted last year in the assault on a disabled 18-year-old in October 2013 and subsequent cover-up.

Sentencing has been scheduled for Aug. 22.

A fourth former employee, Jeff Defayette, was found guilty of trying to cover up the assault, while the fifth worker, Howard Shorette, was acquitted last month.
