It is bound to happen sometime, the 315 area code could run out of telephone numbers by 2015. The New York State Public Service Commission announced that it will hold public statement hearings in Utica, Watertown and Syracuse to listen to public comments on options for area code relief in the 315 area code region.

The goal of the Commission is to develop a plan that will decrease disruption to customers while making sure new telephone numbers will be available in the region past 2015.

During the public information forums, the State Department of Public Service Staff will describe the options under consideration for area code relief and will hold a question and answer session afterwards.

The Utica hearing will be held at the Utica State Office Building on Genessee Street on Monday August 5, at 2 p.m.
