A New York State trooper is recovering following an accident that involved four cars.

It happened on Friday morning, January 3, 2014 just before 10:30, when 31-year old state trooper Michael Ruckdaschel was parked along the west shoulder of State Route 104 southbound in Oswego.

23-Year old Grant Davis from Oswego was driving his 1999 Buick southbound on 104 when he allegedly hit the car being driven by 43-year old Christopher Hughes from Mexico, New York.  The impact caused Hughes's 2007 Dodge sedan to hit Trooper Ruckdaschel's police car as it swerved into the northbound lane, where police say it swiped a 1995 Ford driven by 30-year-old Christopher Soper of Hannibal.

The investigation is continuing.  Ruckdaschel was treated at Oswego Hospital.
