DUNKIRK, N.Y. (AP) — Authorities say a 4-year-old western New York boy is recovering from a gunshot wound suffered when the firearm he was playing with discharged.

The boy was taken to a local hospital, then transferred to Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo. Police say he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police haven't released other details, including the type of weapon that injured the boy.
