AAA is reporting just over 40-million Americans will be traveling over the Fourth of July holiday.

Ed Welsh of AAA says that's a decrease of about 1% from last year.

Welsh say drivers will be paying the third highest gas price ever on the Fourth of July.

The average price in the Utica-Rome area is $3.68 a gallon.

An estimated 84% of vacationers will travel by car and air travel will be up slighlty from last year.
