PARLIN, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say six students have been arrested and a seventh is being sought for a series of sexual assaults involving a New Jersey high school football team.

Authorities say the seven were charged with sex crimes amid an investigation into hazing at Sayreville War Memorial High School, where football games have been canceled. They say four students were attacked on four separate occasions last month.

Middlesex County prosecutor Andrew C. Carey said Friday night that three of the students are charged with aggravated sexual assault, criminal restraint and other crimes. He says the four others are charged with aggravated criminal sexual contact and other crimes.

The students range in age from 15 to 17. Those in custody are awaiting a court decision on whether they will be held at a juvenile detention facility or released to their families.
