Since the severe thunderstorms two weeks ago, DPW crews in Utica say they are picking up an average of 40 truckloads of storm debris per day.

The DPW says they will continue to pick up green waste that is not in containers for storm debris only, and any other green waste that is not storm-related must be containerized in order for it to be picked up.

Delays in pickup are due to non-storm related non-containerized green waste being put to the curb.

As of today the DPW says they have been tot he hardest hit areas of Utica three times to help those hardest hit by the storm.

The DPW is currently finishing storm debris pickup in South Utica and will be heading to East Utica beginning Wednesday, July 23.
