To kick off the Summer Youth Employment Program governor David Paterson is sending
his Brooklyn Representative and motivational speaker, Khari Edwards to Utica, to inspire
the teenagers before they bring home their first paychecks. The opening ceremony at
MVCC will take place Monday at 9:30 and more than 300 youth are expected. County
Executive Tony Picente says The Summer Youth Employment program is one of the
most important investments to make in the future of the area’s workforce. It provides
teenagers with an opportunity to gain work experience and earn their own paycheck.
