PSC: NYRI application "sufficient"; public hearings scheduled

The State Public Service Commission will begin reviewing New York Regional Interconnect's application to build a 190-mile long power line from Marcy to Orange County.

PSC Spokesman Jim Finn says the application was deemed "sufficient" this week. Since NYRI filed the application, the company has been asked to make 3 amendments to make the application complete, he said.

Two hearings, offering information and the public an opportunity to speak, have been scheduled for October.

The first is October 21st at SUNY Oneonta in Craven Lounge. Another is planned for the following day at MVCC's Utica campus in the theatre.

For both events, information forums are planned for 1p.m and 6p.m, with public statement hearings set for 2p.m. and 7p.m.
