Assemblyman David Townsend wants to see Albany travel a sustainable path. Townsend says the current leadership is unwilling to make the structural changes that are needed. Townsend says he sat down with Lt. Governor Richard Ravitch regarding his five-year plan which includes borrowing money for fiscal restructuring, and purposes the assembly explore shifting New York to Generally Accepted Accounting principles from cash budgeting, changing the fiscal calendar to conform to more national standards and eliminate temporary fixes to close year to year budget gaps.
