You'll be getting a new prescription drug discount card in the mail soon. It's free and will allow you discounts of upto 20% on name brand drugs, and upto 70% off generics. The cards are coming from Oneida County, which is joining more than 30 other counties across the state, including Herkimer, Oswego, Madison and Lewis, by participating in the ProAct Prescription Drug Program.
You do not need to enroll in any program, simply show the card at your local drug store. Officals say most pharamacies in the Oneida County participate. The cards are not issued to a specific person, so they can be used by the entire household. And, you can also use them for discounts on pet medications, vision, Lasek and hearing services.
