Port Leyden Couple Arrested for "Grow House"

A Port Leyden Couple is facing felony drug charges for allegedly growing marijuana in their home. State Police arrested Peyton Smith, and his wife, Lisa from 3347 Elm Street, in Port Leyden. Police searched the Smith residence and found about 24 ounces of marijuana. Police say one room had been used as a "grow room" while the attic and a bedroom were being used to dry and process the marijuana. And an outside shed was also being used to process hashish. The Smith's were charged with endangering the Welfare of a Child, Criminal Possession of Marihuana 2nd degree, a class D Felony, and Growing Cannabis. The couple was arraigned and released to await Grand Jury action.
