USA Today is running a piece on the top 10 towns with International Flair....and right at the top of the list is little Utica, New York. That, of course, is great news to the president of the Oneida County Convention and Visitor's Bureau. "We couldn't pay for that kind of exposure," said Kelly Blazoskly.
The editors of USA Today contacted the Empire State Development in Albany looking for places with alot of diversity. Utica came right up on the radar, Blazosky said. Utica Monday Nite, the fact that Utica has a zoo for a city its size and the 30 languages spoken here were all impressive to the editors, she said.
"Exposure is what it's all about. Even if someone isn't able to make a trip here this year, at least we're on their radar screen. [The article] had a link to our website which we're continually adding information to, so, that is very valuable," Blazosky said.
