NYS DOT Worker Killed in Forestport

A New York State Department of Transportation worker has been killed while on the job in Forestport. Oneida County Sheriff's say 48-year-old Gary Farrell of Holland Patent was struck and killed while working as a flag person on Rt. 28 North. Farrell was struck by a pickup truck driven by 68-year-old Patricia Evans of Alder Creek. The accident occurred around at 11 a.m. Forestport Fire Department and Prospect Volunteer Ambulance responded. The accident remains under investigation.
