Report for the Week of November 9, 2009

 

ONEIDA COUNTY

 

City of Rome:

·        Construction work on Route 46 (Black River Blvd) between East Dominick Street and Chestnut Street. Curb and sidewalk replacement at Thomas and Linden Streets. Motorists will encounter lane shifts, lane closures and intermittent, flagger-controlled work zones throughout the project, due to signal and manhole work. Minor delays.

 

·        Route 49 at the railroad crossing. Motorists may encounter lane or shoulder closures eastbound or westbound and minor delays.

 

City of Utica: Construction work on Route 5S between Broad Street and Turner Ave. Motorists will encounter a lane closure eastbound and/or westbound and a speed limit reduction to 45 mph when workers are present on the job. Minor delays are expected due to additional lane closures on Broad Street at the intersection of Route 5S.

 

City of Utica/Town of Marcy: Pavement and barrier repair on Route 49 between Route 12 and Route 291. Motorists will encounter lane closures and a reduced speed limit to 45 mph. Expect minor traffic delays.

 

Village of Barneveld: Route 365 over Steuben Creek bridge deck repairs, between Steuben Valley Road and Fish Hatchery Road. One-way alternating traffic is controlled by a temporary traffic signal 24/7. Minor delays.

 

Village of Oneida Castle: Route 365 highway reconstruction between Route 5 and Route 365A. Miscellaneous construction activities continue. Minor traffic delays.

 

Town of New Hartford: Shoulder closures on Route 5 (Seneca Turnpike) at Woods Highway due to paving and traffic signal work. Minor traffic delays.

 

Towns of Marcy, Deerfield and Trenton: Culvert repairs on Route 12 between Route 8 and Putnam Road. Daytime lane closures northbound; lane closures 24/7 southbound. Speed limit is reduced to 45 mph in the work zones. Minor traffic delays.

 

Town of Vernon: Route 31 Bridge over Sconondoa Creek, Town of Vernon will be open by November 9. Motorists will encounter intermittent shoulder closures or lane closures controlled by flaggers. Expect minor delays

 

Town of Verona: .Reconstruction work on Route 365 between Route 26 South and Patrick Road. Two lane traffic will be reduced to one-lane eastbound and one-lane westbound with a speed limit reduction to 45 mph in the work zone. Reconstruction work on Route 31 between Thruway Bridge and Eastwood Drive. Flaggers will control one-way alternating traffic during daytime hours. Minor traffic delays may be encountered.

Town of Westmoreland: Milling, joint and pavement repairs on Route 233 between Cider Street in Westmoreland and Route 69 in Stanwix. Limited lane closures controlled by flaggers.

 

Town of Whitestown: Single lane closures on Route 69 in Whitesboro, from Clinton Street to Wood Road due to traffic signal work. Minor delays.

 

MADISON COUNTY

 

City of Sherrill: West Hamilton Ave roadwork continues. Alternating one-way traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Delays may be encountered.

 

Village of Canastota: Drainage and sidewalk work on Route 13 (Peterboro St) between Rasbach Street and Maple Ave. Limited lane closures controlled by flaggers. Minor delays.

 

HERKIMER COUNTY

 

City of Little Falls: Bridge deck rehabilitation on Route 169 over CSX and Erie Canal (Wind Bridge). Miscellaneous construction activities continue. Motorists may encounter intermittent one-way alternating traffic controlled by flaggers. Minor delays.

 

Towns of Newport and Fairfield: Route 28 pavement rehabilitation, shoulder and driveway work between Poland and Middleville continue, weather permitting. Alternating one-way traffic will be controlled by flaggers. Minor delays.

 

MONTGOMERY COUNTY

 

Hamlet of Sprakers: Route 5S Bridge replacement over Flat Creek. Motorists will encounter a reduced speed limit to 35 mph. Please drive with caution through the work zone. Please note: Spraker Hill Road at the Route 5S intersection will be closed during the bridge replacement project. Local traffic can access Spraker Hill Road via Park Street.

 

 

FULTON/MONTGOMERY COUNTY

 

Towns of Amsterdam and Perth: Reconstruction work on Route 30 from Sunset Road to Voorhees Road continues. Motorists will encounter work zones maintained by flag people. Please drive with caution through the project.

 

HAMILTON COUNTY

 

Hamlet of Blue Mountain Lake: Route 28 between Durant Road and the Route 30 intersection with Route 28. Miscellaneous construction activities continue. Motorists may encounter lane closures with alternating one way traffic controlled by flaggers. Short delays.

 

Hamlet of Inlet: Route 28 culvert work. Motorists will encounter intermittent one-way alternating traffic controlled by flaggers. Minor delays.

 

Hamlet of Wells: Route 30 over Sacandaga River bridge replacement at Algonquin Road. Motorists may encounter a northbound lane closure. Minor delays.

 

Town of Wells: Route 8 over Sacandaga River bridge bearing replacement. Motorists may encounter a shoulder closure. No delays expected at this time.
