In just two short months The Herkimer Area Resource Center has helped nearly 20 people turn around their employment status. Through a grant from the State Department of Labor, HARC has developed the Turning Point to Employment Program to assist unemployed, lower income individuals, 18 and over, to either prepare for or to find competitive employment or to advance their careers. Career Connections, located on Albany Street in Herkimer, will work with people to explore communication, interpersonal and decision making skills to help ensure they are ready to join the workforce and to retain their jobs. Those interested in the Turning Point Program can call the Herkimer Area Resource center at (315)574-7662 or visit their Career Connections Center. The program is free.
