Many Questions Surround Domestic Double Stabbing Incident
Many Questions Surround Domestic Double Stabbing Incident

An estranged husband and wife remain hospitaled after both were stabbed during a domestic dispute. State Police are still investigating many unanswered questions, including, who-stabbed-who and why?

State Police Troop D BCI Captain Mark Lincoln says the scene unfolded on 205 Pazdur Boulevard in Westmoreland at around 9:30 Monday Night.

"Responding troopers and deputies located Todd C. Smith, age 34, of that residence, in the roadway suffering from knife wounds," Lincoln said. Inside the home, they found Todd Smith's wife, Jenise Haddad Smith, 48, also suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Todd Smith is still recovering, but has spoken with police. Jenise Smith is in intensive care.

Lincoln says Todd Smith had been living at the Pazdur Blvd. location with his parents. His wife and two children were staying at their marital residence in Frankfort.

Police say the couple's two children are with relatives and were not present when the incidents unfolded Monday night.

Police have yet to clarify the circumstances that resulted in both parties being stabbed. Lincoln said it would be premature to say which party is the victim, if either had any self-inflicted wounds, or what led to it. Lincoln did clearly state that Mr and Mrs Smith were the only individuals present at the time and neighbors should not be concerned that a suspect is still on the loose.

Todd Smith Made 'Some Allegations'

While police continue to look for clues at the scene, they are also looking into past 9-1-1 calls at the couple's marital residence in Frankfort.

Captain Lincoln says emergency call logs show police had been dispatched to their home numerous times over the years, but says none appear to be glaring domestic incidents. "You always have to research each incident, sometimes they're called-in and investigated and found to be something different. I can tell you that none of the incidents are immediately recognizable as domestic."

However, there was an 'incident' late last week in which Todd Smith made 'some allegations'. Lincoln could not comment on nature of the allegations or who the allegations involved. He says the investigation into that incident is being handled by the sheriff's office. "It's too early to detemine if that was domestic or not."
