No charges have been filed yet in the case of an estranged husband and wife who are each recovering from multiple stab wounds. The incident happened Monday night on Pazdur Boulevard in Westmoreland.

State Police Troop D BCI Captain Mark Lincoln says Todd Smith has been released from the hospital.  Jenise Haddad-Smith is listed in serious condition at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

"We've interviewed both parties. We're comparing what they say to the forensic evidence and consulting with the District Attorney to determine which direction the case will take from here," Lincoln said.

He would not comment on what each said in their interviews with Police.Authorities have not said who they believe the aggressor was, or what may have led to the violent nature of the dispute.
