Rome Bank Robbery- UPDATE

A manhunt is underway in Marcy for a bank robbery suspect who shot and wounded an Oneida County Sheriff's Deputy. Two men robbed the NBT Bank on Black River Boulevard in Rome just beofre 9:30 this morning. One suspect was taken into custody on Route 49 between Rome and Utica. The second suspect, who has been identified as 31-year old Brian Brown of Utica, ran into a wooded area off Mullaney Road in Marcy following a vehicle and foot chase. He's wearing a white T-shirt and jeans Multiple agencies, including State Police, Utica and Rome Police, the Oneida County Sheriff's Department and the U-S Marshals Office are involved in the search in a wooded-area near the SUNY I-T campus. A Sate Police helicopter is also being used. SUNY I-T is on lockdown and Marcy residents are being told to lock their doors and stay inside. We'll have more information as it becomes avaiable.
