Ten Homeless Following Blandina Street Fire

Ten people are homeless follwing a Friday night fire at 765 Blandina Street in Utica. The blaze broke out a about 7:45 last night. Firefighters were on the scene into the early morning hours. Utica Chief Fire Marshal Raymond Beck says due to the extent of the damage to the 3-story building, an emergency demolition will be requested. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.  The victims are being assisted by the Mohawk Valley Chapter of the Red Cross.
