A Year Later, Verizon Union Contract Still Unresolved
Utica, NY (WIBX) – Verizon workers and members of CWA Local 1126, held an informational picket this afternoon to raise awareness about their unresolved contract dispute with their employer. The two sides have been negotiating a new contract agreement for a year now. Union President, Jason White, gives us an update on the ongoing talks:

White says his hope is that all parties come to an agreement soon, so members can focus on their work. The members plan to hold informational pickets every Thursday during their lunch hour, until an agreement is reached. The group’s 50-year-old contract with Verizon expired August 2011. The company wants to negotiate a new contract, and the union workers want to renew their long standing contract.
