AAA: 42 Million Americans To Travel For July 4th

Utica, NY (WIBX) - Travelers will have lots of company as they head out for July 4th getaways.

Ed Welsh, General Manager of AAA Central New York, says over 42-million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home over the holiday period.

Welsh says that's a nearly 5% increase over last year and ties for the highest number of travelers in the last ten years.

More than 35-million of those vacationers will be traveling by car.

They'll paying about 25-cents a gallon less for gas than they were a year ago.
