An Oriskany Falls woman was taken to the hospital following a two car accident in the Town of Vernon.

State Police say Tina Sykes, 38, was traveling north on Route 26 at around 7:40 Friday morning, when she approached the intersection of Cooper Street.

Her vehicle was then struck by Evan Maher, 23, of Bergen, who ran a stop sign at the intersection. Maher told Troopers that he was unable to see the stop sign because of sun glare.

Sykes was treated at the scene for a shoulder injury, then taken to Rome Memorial Hospital. Maher was uninjured, but was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign.
