Actress Patty Duke Dies

Actress Patty Duke has died.

Her agent says Duke died today at the age of 69.

The cause of death was sepsis resulting from a ruptured intestine.

Duke burst onto the entertainment scene at the age of 16, winning the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Hellen Keller in "The Miracle Worker."

She went on to win a Golden Globe in the comedy series, "The Patty Duke Show."
