Members of the Cuomo administration are in the area today to discuss affordable housing and neighborhood development in Utica.

They took part in a roundtable discussion with local leaders and members of community-based organizations at SUNY Poly in Marcy.

At the event, James Rubin, Commissioner of Homes and Community Renewal, announced that Governor Andrew Cuomo has created a $50 million capital infrastructure fund for non-profits statewide.

The meeting is the first in a series of housing, community development and faith-based conferences to be held across the state.

State officials also joined Utica Mayor Robert Palmieri on his weekly Quality of Life Sweep.

Palmieri said, "I thank Governor Cuomo for convening this conference today and once again demonstrating his commitment to transforming Utica and the entire Mohawk Valley Region. Building partnerships with local organizations brings hope, strengthens working relationships and provides the foundation to continue to move Utica and our community forward."
