Albany, NY (WIBX) - The state Attorney General wants to make sure New Yorkers have a safe place to turn if they have public corruption complaints.

Eric Schneiderman is appointing public integrity officers to each of his regional offices.

The officers will be on hand to take complaints from residents who don't have to fear "local politics influencing the outcome."

In Utica, Joel Marmelstein, who's served as the head of the AG's Regional Office for over 12 years, has been named public integrity officer.
