More schools are being funded for a program that brings agricultural education into local classrooms.  New York State Senator Fred Akshar says the program in the 52nd Senate District has expanded from five to ten schools.

Owego Apalachin and Windsor schools additionally are getting $350,000 each to construct new Agricultural Labratories.

Akshar says the pilot program at Harpursville, Maine-Endwell, Owego Apalachin, Union Endicott and Windsor from January to August of this year.  The Republican says Bainbridge Guilford, Chenango Valley, Deposit, Greene and Tioga Central have been added.

Classes and curriculum are administered by Cornell Cooperative extension with an Agricultural Educator providing 14 lessons per month for each school.
