Albany, NY (WIBX) - New York State lawmakers must address the state's new $315-million dollar budget deficit during Governor Paterson's special legislative session in Albany today. That from Dean Skelos, Senate Minority Leader.

State lawmakers are being asked to approve a restructuring plan for the financially-strapped New York City Off-Track Betting Corporation. The Legislature isn't compelled by law to act on any of the governor's agenda items.

Some lawmakers say it would be more appropriate to wait until January to cut any spending to address the deficit. Paterson's term as governor ends in January.
