ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Albany and New Rochelle have each won $10 million in state funds to overhaul downtown neighborhoods.

The prizes were announced Thursday when the two cities were announced as the latest winners of Gov. Andrew Cuomo's downtown revitalization contest.

In Albany city leaders plan to use the funds to improve Clinton Square, a neighborhood that's home to many businesses, apartments and public spaces.

New Rochelle's leaders say they'll invest the funds in the busy Lincoln Avenue corridor.

This is the third round of the downtown redevelopment contest. Other recent winners include Saranac Lake, Watertown, Batavia, Rome and the South Bronx.
