There's still no official timeline but the Mets are hoping that captain David Wright could be ready to return to the team after the All-Star break in mid-July.

That was the news GM Sandy Alderson shared this week, however, while he said that it was 'realistic' to think the Mets third baseman would be ready by then, he said really had no evidence to indicate Wright would be ready by then, the NY Post reported:

“But … who knows?” said Alderson, who earlier had pointed out: “We really don’t have enough concrete information now to make an accurate prediction. David is anxious to get back. In the meantime, the team’s been playing decently.

Wright went on the disabled list in mid-April with a hamstring strain but hasn't been able to return due to a diagnosis of spinal stenosis, which he's been receiving treatment for in California.

The Mets have had a platoon replacing Wright in his absence which has included Eric Campbell, Wilmer Flores, Ruben Tejada and Daniel Murphy.
