The woman who claims Bill Cosby drugged and raped her twice in 1969 explained to WIBX's Bill Keeler on Thursday why it took her some 45 years to tell her story.

Joan Tarshis of Woodstock, NY said she was afraid people wouldn't believe her and now she wants to tell her story for all of the women that came after her.

Several women have come forward over the years, four of whom have gone public in the last few weeks, each telling similar stories of being drugged and then raped by the legendary actor/comedian.

"I was very suspicious of her story in the beginning," said Keeler.  "I just didn't understand why it took her so long to come clean; but, after speaking with her it really makes sense."

Tarshis explained during the interview that she had opportunities over the years to sell her story, but she always refused.  "I have no interest in going down that road," she said.  She said she wouldn't then and won't now, sell her story.
