A high school senior in the state of Washington hit a 67-yard field goal last Thursday to tie a record for the second longest field goal ever in a high school game.

Austin Rehkow of Central Valley High hit the field goal in a game against Sadle Park High, tying the game at 55 at the end of regulation.  Central Valley went on to win the game in overtime,  62-55.


The NFL record for the longest field goal made is 63 and has been done by Tom Dempsey, Jason Elam, Sebastian Janikowski and David Akers.

The longest field goal ever made in high school is a 68 yard field goal that was made by Dick Borgognone in Reno, Nevada back in 1985.
