Disaster Action Team volunteers from the American Red Cross of Central New York are in Smithfield to offer assistance to the families whose homes were destroyed or severely damaged by Tuesday night’s powerful storm.

At least eight homes were impacted.

The storm claimed the life of four people who lived in the area of Goff and Northrop roads in Smithfield

Red Cross volunteers will offer the residents food, clothing, personal hygiene items and other necessities, and emergency housing if they do not have another place to stay.

Mental health caseworkers will also be available to provide counseling
