America’s Greatest Heart Run And Walk Kick Off Event

The kick-off event for 2018's American Greatest Heart Run and Walk Weekend was held Wednesday night at the Yahnundasis in New Hartford.

Heart Run and Walk Weekend will take place on Friday and Saturday, March 2rd and 3rd at Utica College.

The fundraising goal is $1.1 million..

After serving for 17 years as Director of the Heart Run and Walk, Jim Stasaitis is stepping down.

Former American Heart Association advisory board President and Heart Telethon chairman Steve Gassner will take over for Stasaitis.

The 2018 Red Cap Ambassadors were also announced:

• The Benham Family- congenital heart defect survivor Grace and heart attack survivor Roy, from Rome
• Paul Grube - aortic valved replacement survivor from Clark Mills
• Sammy Paquette- a congenital heart defect survivor from Rome

The annual WIBX Heart Radiothon will take place on Friday from 6:00 am to 7:00 am and Saturday, from 6:00 am to 1:00 pm.
